JE SUIS CHARLIE – We’ll never forget

The Paris attacks of January  7-9, 2015

Another three days, we will never forget!

Today, we honour the victims of the Paris attacks and of the Charlie Hebdo shooting, two years ago.

The editor along with some members of staff, columnists and France’s most famous cartoonists and caricaturists were killed in cold blood, because they challenged ideas and did so with illustrations and words that some people took offence to. Twelve innocent people were murdered and twelve injured that day by the two armed gunmen who stormed the Charlie Hebdo editorial offices in Paris. In a series of five related attacks in the region of Ile-de-France, further five people were killed and eleven wounded.

Freedom of speech and of expression are principles we should actively speak up for every day in our personal and professional lives. We can and should always support these fundamental rights, artistic expression, satire and cultural criticism and exercise them with caution and responsibility.

In memory of all the victims of the Paris attacks of January 7-9, 2015.

We ALL ARE CHARLIE and no one should be silenced for his/her beliefs or opinion.

Most people do not really want others
to have freedom of speech,
they just want others to be given
the freedom to say
what they want to hear
